Now if you claim to know anything about WWE you will know that they have released a lot of feature films over the years.

John Cena has found a lot of his fame through films like The Marine, 12 Rounds, Legendary and The Reunion. As well as that Randy Orton and The Miz have starred in the follow-ups to these films with The Marine 4 currently being produced.

Steve Austin starred in The Condemned and former WWE superstar Mr Kennedy starred in Behind Enemy Lines: Columbia.

But all these films had to have a start date and the first ever WWE film back in 2006 was See No Evil.

This film was the basis to the main storyline that year with Kane attacking anyone who mentioned May 19th, this was later revealed as “kayfabe” the day his parents died. But was probably one of the best storylines Kane had in his career.

Trish and Mickie James then had one of the best divas matches in WWE History at Wrestlemania 22 when Mickie won her first women’s title.

But on this day twelve years ago Trish was still an up and coming talent and won just her second title in WWE after she pinned Jzz in a mixed tag team match with Bubba Ray and Steven Richards.

But what most wrestling fans don’t know if that Steve Austin had a short stint in WWF as “Stunning” Steve Austin a few years before he debuted as “Stone Cold.”

His stint as “Stunning Steve Austin” was not a good one, he was also known as “The Ringmaster” Steve Austin and “Superstar” Steve Austin in his early career.

But on May 11th 1989, that was when Steve Austin walked the first steps on the path to becoming one of the most famous Wrestlers of all time.

His debut was against Frogman LeBlancin World Class Championship Wrestling which he won via pinfall, thanks to the referee because at this point Austin knew nothing about Kayfabe and the referee had to call the spots throughout the match for him.

May 10th – 1999 – Debra wins the WWF Women’s title in controversial circumstances

I know what you’re thinking, the women’s division in the WWE right now is something often complained about. The Trish and Lita era is over and WWE have no idea what to do now the likes of Mickie James and Melina, who carried the division for years, are now gone.

But back before Trish and Lita, they hardly had a clue either, on this day 15 short years ago Debra and Sable had an evening gown match for the WWF Women’s title. That’s right, an Evening Gown match, bear in mind this was before the PG era, this was the Attitude era and in this type of match basically you had to remove your opponent’s clothes to win.

Basically, a lot like the more modern Bra and Panties matches, except you elegantly made your way to the ring in a ball gown, only to fight to keep it on in order to win.

Sable did win the match because Debra lost her dress but Commissioner Shawn Michaels decided that because Debra had lost her dress, she was in fact the winner, mostly because the audience were also the winners and Debra became the Women’s Champion.

Not going complain about the women’s division any more are you?
